VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN was a world-wide box office bomb in 2015. It also is one of my personal favorite Frankenstein-related films I am "frankly" shocked that it went nowhere when it was released. Having purchased it on the strength of the cast list alone (James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe, Jessica Brown Findlay and Andrew Scott), it immediately became a "go-to" movie for me, a film I can watch any time and enjoy every time.

Granted, it might just be a personal thing, and perhaps I don't get why it came and went so quickly. I've enjoyed what I have seen of Daniel Radclffe's post Harry Potter work and Jessica Brown Findlay's post Downton Abbey work, and have enjoyed Andrew Scott in the British "Sherlock" series. I didn't know who James McAvoy, but thought he was excellent as Victor Frankenstein. Radcliffe does fine work throughout the film, but especially in the early scenes where he is saved by the Doctor from a life of humiliation and heartache. I would sit through just about anything starring Findlay, who is stunning and also a superb actress. The film itself is fast-moving, often funny, even more often quite insane.

Never mind that it bombed. Rent it. It clock in at just about an hour and a half, it's non-stop crazy, and it's fun! What are you waiting for?
